Key Stage 4
During KS4 all learners will follow the following GCSE courses
- Welsh
- English
- Mathematics and Numeracy
- Science
- Skills Challenge Certificate
In addition a Health and Wellbeing curriculum is offered to all learners which include statutory Physical Education and Religious Studies.
During the Spring term in year 9 learners will have a Careers day in order to discuss post 14 Learning Pathways. Following this there will be an opportunity for leaners and their parents/guardians to attend an open evening to receive more information in regards to the courses offered at the school. The three option columns will be formed based on learner free choice and so these can vary from year to year. Each learner will have the opportunity to discuss their options with a member of staff before making their final choices.
Key Stage 5
At KS5 all students study the Skills Challenge Certificate in addition to their chosen subjects. At the start of the Spring term in year 11 all students will have a Careers day in order to discuss post 16 Learning Pathways and following this students and their parents/guardians will be invited to attend an open evening to receive more information in regards to the level 3 courses offered at the school. In addition a representative from the college and Careers Wales will be on hand to provide further information. Option columns are decided based on the free choice of learner and so can vary year to year. Each students will have an opportunity to meet with a member of staff to discuss their options during the Summer term and again on the day of their results in August.
